BIBF launches e-learning platform as a substitute for regular classes

Mar 12, 2020

The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) announced Wednesday that it is activating an e-learning platform to ensure continuity of all educational processes during the suspension of classes and other regular activities.

For those out of the loop, the Government's Executive Committee recently issued an order suspending all regular activities as a precautionary measure against the ongoing coronavirus (COVD-19) outbreak.

BIBF’s new e-learning platform will also include an interactive lecturing mechanism for students during the suspension period. On top of that, the interactive platform for distance learning will also be activated by bringing virtual classrooms for all training programs and professional certification courses at BIBF.

“The virtual platform (BIBF MyClass 2.0) provides an interactive learning experience with real-time sharing of audio, video, course materials, chat, live whiteboard, course assessments along with live teaching enabled through webcams to ensure the best learning experience for students. The students will also be able to interact with our faculty members along with other attendees during the course sessions," said BIBF Director, Dr. Ahmed Abdulhameed Al-Shaikh, after announcing the new initiative.

He added that the new e-learning platform falls in line with BIBF's commitment to ensuring health and safety for its students, as well as the teachers and staff members.
