MITEF Arab Startup Competition shortlists 4 Bahraini startups
Jan 15, 2020

The MITEF Arab Startup Competition has been one of the most important startup competitions in the Arab region over the past few years. The clout of the events in the regional startup and entrepreneurial ecosystem can be comprehended from the fact that the forthcoming edition of the MITEF Arab Startup Competition has attracted more than 4,000 applications from across the world.
The applicants belong to a diverse range of industries and represent the different size, maturity, and target markets.
As always, the competition, organized in collaboration with Community Jameel and the King Abdullah University of Science &Technology (KAUST), will consist of three tracks: Startups Track, Ideas Track, and Social Entrepreneurship Track.
After an intense review carried out by three expert judges, 17 startups were hand-picked for the Startups Track, 11 for the Ideas Track, and 12 for the Social Entrepreneurship Track.
We’re proud that 4 of our startups are among the chosen 40, those are Dalooni, Hayatech, Honey Flow Africa, and Beanboat.
In the next phase, all 40 of these semi-finalists will undergo a boot camp at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology on March 1-3, 2020.
The purpose of the bootcamp will be to help the semi-finalists to fine-tune their business model and pitching skills, thus boosting their preparations for the finale in April.
StartUp Bahrain will be keeping a close eye on all the proceedings to keep you posted as the MITEF Arab Startup Competition 2020 closes in.
