In continuation to its effort to raise national forces in future technologies, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) joined forces with ConsenSys to organize a blockchain boot camp on Tuesday, April 24, 2018.

The boot camp, spanning three days, was designed to provide valuable insight to the participants about how blockchain technology functions. But not just that, the boot camp also focused on making sure that participants acquire knowledge from the dual perspective of strategy and business.

Additionally, they were also taught numerous examples of practical usage of its highly useful technology in addition to shedding light on what makes it so unique and positively disruptive.

There was also a special training program in the three-day boot camp that saw technologists from multiple organizations undergoing in-depth tutorials on how to get started with a development environment, construct a decentralized application (dApp) using Ethereum smart contracts, and merge those with web applications.

“From guided exercises to coded examples, this boot camp comes in response to the Ministry's desire to enable the Saudi technical youth to learn about the key advantages of blockchain technology and its mechanism, as well as to adopt it in a responsible manner to make businesses more profitable,” said Lina Hediah, Executive Director, ConsenSys MENA.

Hediah added: “The aim of this workshop is to leverage Saudi Arabia’s untapped human resource potential, equip them with knowledge and insight, so they understand the power of blockchain and the current and future potential of its application.”

Given its domain expertise and experience, Consensys, a globally renowned venture specializing in blockchain technology, was an important contributor to the MCIT initiative.
