Tamkeen announces partnerships with MEET ICT conference and BITEX

Bahrain Labor Fund, Tamkeen, has announced that it is now a strategic partner for MEET ICT, an information and communication technology conference, and the Bahrain Technology Exhibition (BITEX).

In its new role, Tamkeen will be responsible for organizing special events during the MEET ICT, enabling the country’s up and coming private IT institutions and companies to reach a wider customer base. Among other benefits, the event will also help Tamkeen take stock of its own support infrastructure for these companies.

Tamkeen will also partake in the conference session, in addition to extending support to companies that participate in BITEX.

Speaking of the new partnerships with MEET ICT and BITEX, H.E. Dr. Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi, Chief Executive of Tamkeen, said that they are committed to providing all necessary support to private sector businesses. The ultimate objective is to help them expand to increase their contribution to the Kingdom’s economy.

He added: “Through its strategy for the next three years, Tamkeen is proceeding to activate the support programmes provided to individuals and the private sector within the framework of implementing Bahrain Vision 2030.”

“Tamkeen’s continued support for companies in Bahrain stems from its keenness to strengthen the ICT sector in the Kingdom. This plays a vital role in raising the capacity of private sector institutions to develop their productivity and competitiveness."

Both MEET ICT and BITEX are expected to play a key role in the broader national trend toward paving the way for speedy progress in the country’s technology sector, thereby boosting its stake in the national output.
