Tamkeen joins forces with The Search Center to prepare Bahrainis for CERN training

Bahrain's Labour Fund (Tamkeen) has partnered with Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture & Research to provide training opportunities for University of Bahrain (UoB) students at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). This collaboration falls under Tamkeen's Global-Ready Talent program, which aims to develop Bahraini skills in basic sciences and information technology. The agreement was signed in the presence of Her Excellency Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Sheikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center, and Tamkeen's Chief Executive, Her Excellency Ms. Maha Mofeez.

CERN, renowned for its particle physics research and innovation, operates the world's largest laboratories, including the prominent Large Hadron Collider. Bahraini students' involvement at CERN offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with global scientific leaders and contribute to groundbreaking experiments. This partnership strengthens Bahrain's position in CERN projects and showcases Bahraini talent in technology, innovation, and scientific discovery worldwide.

Selected University of Bahrain students will receive 12 months of training at CERN's headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, as part of the Global-Ready Talent Program. The program accelerates their professional growth by providing on-the-job training at prestigious international institutions, enhancing their skills and competitiveness in the local workforce.

Tamkeen's Global-Ready Talent Program has previously partnered with esteemed international companies, providing on-the-job training for Bahrainis at companies such as the Fives Group, Arla Foods, Citibank, SABIC, and Prodrive International. These collaborations paved the way for 48 Bahrainis with invaluable on-the-job training opportunities, facilitating their career progression and preparing them for leadership roles.

This initiative aligns with Tamkeen's strategic priorities for the year, focusing on economic participation, tailored training, and support for enterprise growth and development. These efforts drive positive economic impact and sustainable growth in Bahrain.
